"Developing Indigenous Business Opportunities and Initiatives across the Shoalhaven "
Our team is made up of both Indigenous and non-Indigenous allies. MBAC is working together to create a more inclusive Australia through its business initiatives. We all share the vision and values of the organisation and strive to achieve its goals.
Marri Burrung Aboriginal Corporation (MBAC) has been in existence since 2019 and was set up as a collaboration of like- minded "First Nations" people in the Shoalhaven LGA working professionally with a number of non-indigenous people, to develop Indigenous business opportunities and initiatives across the Shoalhaven LGA. Non-indigenous members support the vision set out by the Marri Burrung Aboriginal Corporation membership group that will always be dominated by “First Nations” people.
The vision of MBAC is to have an organisation that changes the paradigm and assists in the planning, organisation and logistics for sustainable tourist based cultural activities, training into employment, traineeships and Aboriginal based local business activities across the Shoalhaven. The vision includes setting up and developing a local cultural and education centre in Central Nowra through 'BluRoo Projects' to meet the growing cultural tourism, hospitality and business administration opportunities. There would be a resourced training facility on site to develop qualifications for young adults and employment to take advantage of these business opportunities that can immediately benefit the local Aboriginal people and communities in the area.
" MBAC acknowledges the Traditional Owners and their continuing connection to land, sea and community and pay our respects to Elders, past and present. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples should be aware that this website may contain images or names of people who have since passed away. "
